Alright so I know I’ve been a little MIA again but I promise I have fun things coming your way! We have been getting some DIY projects done and will be sharing a few within the next couple of days. To hold you over until then, here is something for the fur babies to enjoy: Doggie “Ice Cream”!
These ice creams are a favorite among our pups and mom makes them for Dakota about every week or so. I’m going to give you just one version of this recipe. The ice cream is really something you can make with just about any fruit (just be sure it’s safe for dog consumption) and can be tweaked however you like.
First, start out with clean condiment cups to put the ice cream in. We buy them at the Dollar Tree and they come in a pack of about 4 or 5. These cups are easiest and cheapest because Dakota will sometimes break them when he runs around with the empty cup in his mouth.
Next up, gather your ingredients. On this particular day we used Greek yogurt, strawberries, peanut butter (what dog doesn’t love that?!) and a banana. We also added water and about a handful of blueberries that just aren’t in the picture.
All you have to do now is put all your ingredients into whatever blender you have on hand. We use our NutriBullet for this recipe since it isn’t a large amount of liquid.
- 1 cup Greek yogurt (plain or vanilla)
- 1 whole banana
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 3-4 strawberries
- 1 Tbsp. peanut butter
- Handful of blueberries
1. Blend all ingredients in a blender then pour into small cups and freeze.
2. Serve to the puppies.
