Hi all! So one of the ideas I came up with to make sure that I’m blogging more regularly is Friday Favorites. Over the years, I have seen that Friday Favorites is a pretty popular post among sites and I’ve always really enjoyed them.
Every Friday I will post a few (or a lot depending on the week) things that I’ve loved that week. Let’s get started!
Audiobook
The past few weeks have brought about circumstances that made me realize there were things in my life that needed to change and I needed to be happy no matter what again. I won’t go into those circumstances BUT what has helped me turn things around already are self development audiobooks! I have listened to about six or so in the last 3 weeks.
Today, I want to talk about my current listen. That would be Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself by Dr. Joe Dispenza.
I am actually surprised how much I am LOVING this book. Dr. Dispenza goes into topics like quantum physics, neuroscience, brain chemistry, biology, and genetics which is why I say I’m surprised because anything science related usually isn’t my cup of tea. This book fascinates me though.
Dr. Dispenza provides you with the knowledge of how you can use these topics to change what you want to change about yourself and make it lasting. It is the #8 most sold book on Amazon’s charts and I can definitely see why. I’m only about halfway through this book but so far it has already been eye-opening and I can’t wait to learn more.
This book is 100% worth checking out!
Hobby
I will be the first to admit that this next favorite is a little on the nerdy/childish side. Honestly, I don’t care! Those words describe a lot of the little things I like so I embrace it with joy.
One of my absolute favorite things to do in my spare time is painting adult paint-by-numbers pictures. I haven’t done one in quite awhile and this past weekend I decided to get back to it since they make me so happy. I finished this picture within the weekend.
What I love most about these is that I can just get lost in them. I focus so much on the colors and the placement that everything else just kind of disappears. They are extremely relaxing in my opinion and the finished product is always beautiful.
Song
Up next, we have my favorite song this week. That song would be “Break from Love” off of Trey Songz album Tremaine The Album. I love almost everything Trey Songz does so it doesn’t shock me that I’m obsessed with this song.
Just give it a listen!
Television Show
Last, but certainly not least, is my favorite show this week, The Amazing Race. This is by no means a new show. It actually premiered in 2001 and I didn’t start watching it until this year. WHAT?! Well I’ve been missing out.
Now that pretty much every show I watch is on hiatus for the summer, my sister and I watch seasons of shows on Hulu to get us through until they come back. We decided to start The Amazing Race from Season 1 and have just finished Season 2. I didn’t think I would be into this show but it’s so fun to see the extraordinary places they travel to and all the tasks they have to do!
